Monitor LizardOn Saturday, March 29th, at about 7:30 pm, just as our staff were preparing for Earth Hour, a monitor lizard came in from the forest for a quick dip in the infinity pool.

The lizard was about 4 or 5 feet long and after a quick 10 minute swim around the pool, exited back into the forest.

Monitor lizards (family Varanidae) Monitors lay 7 to 35 soft-shelled eggs, usually deposited in holes in riverbanks or in trees along water courses.
